Watch Duty is a service, not an app, powered by over 100 volunteers – firefighters, dispatchers, and first responders – who diligently monitor radio scanners and other official sources 24 hours a day to send you the most up-to-date information. They monitor 13 states in the west and south on a continual basis.
They don't seem to have an API so it'll probably come down to reversing their website or application. Their mobile app seems to be a cut-down browser pointed at https://app.watchduty.org/
The Movement Advancement Project (MAP) tracks over 50 different LGBTQ-related laws and policies. This map shows the overall policy tallies (as distinct from sexual orientation or gender identity tallies) for each state, the District of Columbia, and the five populated U.S. territories. A state’s policy tally scores the laws and policies within each state that shape LGBTQ people's lives, experiences, and equality. The major categories of laws covered by the policy tally include: Relationship & Parental Recognition, Nondiscrimination, Religious Exemptions, LGBTQ Youth, Health Care, Criminal Justice, and Identity Documents.
Click on any state to view its detailed policy tally and state profile, or click "Choose an Issue" above to view maps on over 50 different LGBTQ-related laws and policies.
A Place for Marsha is named after famous LGBTQ+ activist: Marsha P. Johnson. Here, we are connecting the Trans Community to help each other secure housing in states where Trans Rights are treated as Human Rights.
The mission of A Place for Marsha is to facilitate safe housing for trans individuals escaping transphobic states. Here, we connect trans people (18+) from states with heavy anti-trans legislation with volunteers in safer states who are willing to be their roommates.
A Place for Marsha is newly founded and needs your help getting off the ground. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us. All donations will go directly to moving costs.
Risk Factor™ is a free online tool created by the nonprofit First Street Foundation® that makes it easy for Americans to find their property’s risk from environmental threats such as flooding and wildfires and understand how risks are changing because of a changing environment.
First Street Foundation’s mission is to address the asymmetry in access to high-quality climate change data by quantifying and communicating America’s environmental risks so that everyone can make informed decisions for the future. By making flood and fire risk data accessible and easy to understand, individuals and communities can prepare for and mitigate risks before they become a reality.
Look up your zipcode to get an assessment of environmental disaster risk in your area.
These links are not meant to be scary - they are meant to be strictly informative. These things are not at all exclusive to furries - but are seen throughout the internet and in real life. These guides are made to make the fandom a safer place and to make people more aware of issues they otherwise may not know about.
While this is primarily for use in the Furry Fandom it applies to everyone online, minor or not. This is just a guide to help people spot signs of abuse. Please know that some of these alone do not mean anything - however if there is a pattern please ask a trusted friend or family member about what you are experiencing. Please pass this on to people who you feel may be suffering from abuse. Feel free to repost as this is a community resource.
