Viktor is a software synthesizer built on the Web Audio API, using HTML and Javascript. Viktor produces sound in a pathway of oscillators and noise generators (as raw sources of sound and timbre), signal envelopes, low pass filters and effects (Delay and Reverb). This combines the 2 major ways of creating sound electronically - Additive (oscillators and noise) and Subtractive Sound Synthesis.
Viktor also makes use of the emerging Web MIDI API (just landed without a flag in Chrome 43). So you can play using your MIDI keyboard - plug it in, turn it on and restart the browser (not just the tab) and it should work.
On the desktop, Viktor runs well in the latest and greatest versions of Chrome, Safari and Firefox. If you want to use MIDI support, however, you're going to be using Chrome on the desktop only.

Pixitracker is a simple, pixel-based sample editor and chiptune tracker that's designed to be fun to play with, so it doesn't have the hardcore (and intimidating, I'll admit) tracker interface. Pixel-based means that you specify notes and patterns by turning dots on and off by clicking on them. Designed so you can just mess around with it. Record patterns, make new samples and export them as .wav files, record sounds. MIDI aware so you can plug your favorite MIDI device in and use that as the UI. Supports multiple audio drivers, too. There are versions for Apple iOS, Android, Windows, OSX, and Linux. Samples are delineated with Space Invaders-style sprites so you can tell them apart.
