In 2014 @cosmicr ported a C# version of the 1976 Super Star Trek BASIC game to Python 2.
In 2022 I want a Python version of the 1977 Commodore PET version of the 1971 classic Star Trek game, so I can re-live my childhood in the console of whatever computer I'm using and not faff around with emulators and disk images.
Rather than code it from scratch, I decided to fork @cosmicr's port, remove some of the functionality that comes with the Super Star Trek variant and make the game play more like the Commodore PET version.
A turn based game for bots, not people to play.
System Syzygy is a story and a puzzle game, in the style of Cliff Johnson's classic Macintosh games The Fool's Errand and 3 in Three, and of Andrew Plotkin's System's Twilight. As you move through the game, solving a variety of different kinds of puzzles, the game tells the story a piece at a time. By the end of the game, all the different puzzles and pieces of the story come together into a single meta-puzzle.
The Nand Game will take you though building a working computer, starting from the most basic components. It does not require any prerequisites, in particular it does not require any previous knowledge about computer architecture or software, and does not require math skills beyond addition and subtraction. It does require some patience - some of the tasks may take a while to solve.
An open source clone of the game Worms in which you manipulate a team of characters (usually earthworms) to box, pummel, blow up, and otherwise mangle the characters of the other team in a cartoon-like fashion. Network/deathmatch play possible.
An open source platform/strategy game reminiscent of Worms.
Somebody cloned Portal into an open source game done entirely in ASCII. Cute.
A realtime strategy game in which you compete in a virtual space with others to build the biggest, most robust network you can while attempting to compromise or crash the networks of rival system admins. It sounds a little like Starcraft meets Neuromancer with a healthy dose of the movie Hackers thrown in for fun. Runs on Windows as well as Linux.
I think this is every question ever answered in the Sage Advice of Dragon Magazine through its entire publication history.

Hacknet is a modern, super immersive terminal-driven hacking game with a fully internally-consistent network simulation and an interface so real you shouldn't play it in an airport. It follows the story of recently deceased hacker "Bit", whose death may not be the 'accident' the media reports.
Just what it sounds like: turn on your shortwave receiver (or drop one of your Conet Project CDs in the player), load up this page, and start crossing off boxes.
