Pacific Hacker Conference is an information security and hacking conference that gathers the brightest minds in cybersecurity and hacking from Silicon Valley and beyond. Focusing on cutting-edge techniques, research, and developments, we aim to create an environment where knowledge is shared and connections are made. Our audience ranges from security professionals, researchers, and ethical hackers to industry decision-makers. We keep the Conference small, allowing us to provide what other Cons leave out.
We provide presentation tracks, a workshop track, and a place to chill and learn while connecting with other like-minded individuals. No egos. No divas. It’s just a good time and good content. Join the conversation.
While each PHA event is distinct, we welcome anyone interested in the cybersecurity community to attend. Pacific Hackers Conference is an event for all levels of experience and diverse backgrounds – from the industry professionals offsetting or augmenting their current security skill set, to the students looking for potential career opportunities in the security community, as well as industry leaders looking to share their vast experiences. One thing they all have in common is a desire to connect with others in the community and discuss emerging issues. These are connections and experiences they can call upon throughout their career.
Held at Hacker Dojo in Mountain View, CA. Looks surprisingly inexpensive.
This is the official California state government website for making sure that you're still registered to vote. It needs your name, birthday, and driver's license and Social Security number.
Technically, it's /either/ your driver's license /or/ your SSN, but if you enter one you'll have to check "I do not have one" box for the other and that might cause erroneous results. Your tax dollars at work.
Official California state government water supply stats. I'm not entirely sure there's an API here but there is interactive graphing that can probably be reverse engineered to get data. The hydrologic overview and reservoir conditions are of particular interest.
Local Crime News is California's dedicated resource for arrest news. We have reporters throughout all of California collecting arrest news which is gathered and published daily. Our arrest news is provided as a courtesy resource for the general public. We partner with Neighborhood Watch Groups and Crime Stoppers to keep organizations in the loop on arrests that are happening throughout their cities and neighborhoods.
The California Independent System Operator (ISO) maintains reliability on one of the largest and most modern power grids in the world, and operates a transparent, accessible wholesale energy market. The organization works diligently around the clock to meet the electricity needs of consumers, while increasing the amount of renewable energy to usher in the clean, green grid of the future.
The California ISO provides open and non-discriminatory access to the bulk of the state’s wholesale transmission grid, supported by a competitive energy market and comprehensive infrastructure planning efforts.
Things of interest: Emergency notifications, daily briefings, API, power grid status, and electricity pricing.
