Prepend 12ft.io/ to the URL webpage, and we'll try our best to remove the popups, ads, and other visual distractions.
Turns out most of the visual distractions on webpages are loaded after the page renders via javascript. All we do is disable the javascript of the site. This obviously doesn't work for all websites, but it works for a surprisingly large proportion of them. This is generally the case because most sites want to be indexed by Google and other search engines which have historically not run the javascript. Give it a shot on your favorite website to see how clean a JS-free version of the website is.
Rate-limiting can easily be disabled by setting RATE_LIMIT=0/0 in /etc/pihole/pihole-FTL.conf
. If I want, say, to set a rate limit of 1 query per hour, the option should look like RATE_LIMIT=1/3600.
Filter for uBlock origin to remove spam-website results from DuckDuckGo and Google that just blatantly copy and paste content from well known websites. This list is just a personal collection of annoying, unhelpful websites.
I think the combined-list.txt file could be used to build a crapsite filtering database.
Butter is a browser extension that skips sponsored content in YouTube videos. It does this by watching them before you do. Because you deserve butter.
Butter uses machine learning to detect sponsored content. Instead of looking at keywords or the metadata provided by Google, it analyzes the video content itself. This allows Butter to detect sponsored segments even if the creator doesn't mention them explicitly. Other browser extensions rely on manual, human work to achieve that, but Butter is not that smart.
Butter is an experiment that proved to be more useful than I expected, so I decided to share it.

folder of this repository.Python wrapper for Brave's adblocking library, which is written in Rust. Uses filter lists written in AdBlock Plus' native format.
An online checker that tells you if your browser's adblocker has been updated to handle Youtube's latest attempt at blocking adblockers.
Koumori 蝙蝠 is a lightweight yet powerful web browser which runs just as well on little embedded computers named for delicious pastries as it does on beefy machines with a core temperature exceeding that of planet earth. And it looks good doing that, too. Oh, and of course it’s free software. Koumori is a fork of Midori 9.0 with additional features, mainly because the original Midori is dead (website doesn’t exist, the name has been taken by the Astian Foundation and used for a DuckDuckGo web browser fork).
Koumori is not related in any way with Blink (Chromium, Chrome), Gecko (Firefox), DuckDuckGo or Astian Foundation. It uses WebKit, so its closest relative would be Apple’s Safari.
This is an unofficial port of the SponsorBlock browser extension to Kodi. It works as an extension to the YouTube Plugin. Once installed, the add-on will automatically skip sponsor segments in all YouTube and Invidious videos you watch.
Requires the Kodi Youtube addon.
The add-on is available in siku2's repository.
SponsorBlock is an extension that will skip over sponsored segments of YouTube videos. This is the server backend for it. Uses a Postgres or Sqlite database to hold all the timing data.
To make sure that this project doesn't die, I have made the database publicly downloadable at https://sponsor.ajay.app/database. You can download a backup or get archive.org to take a backup if you do desire. The database is under this license unless you get explicit permission from me.
SponsorBlock lets you skip over sponsors, intros, outros, subscription reminders, and other annoying parts of YouTube videos. SponsorBlock is a crowdsourced browser extension that lets anyone submit the start and end times of sponsored segments and other segments of YouTube videos. Once one person submits this information, everyone else with this extension will skip right over the sponsored segment. You can also skip over non music sections of music videos. This is open source and the entire database is public.
Easily skip YouTube video sponsors. When you visit a YouTube video, the extension will check the database for reported sponsors and automatically skip known sponsors. You can also report sponsors in videos.
An open-source alternative frontend for YouTube which is efficient by design.
YouTube has an extremely invasive privacy policy which relies on using user data in unethical ways. You give them a lot of data - ranging from ideas, music taste, content, political opinions, and much more than you think. By using Piped, you can freely watch and listen to content without the fear of prying eyes watching everything you are doing. Doesn't seem to require a database on the back-end. Claims to be a PWA.
Use the Dockerfile as instructions to build manually. Upload dist/ to shared hosting. Done.
A set of maintained Pi-Hole blocklists for handling the following devices:
I don’t wish to use the proprietary code forge, but when I do I want less social features in my face trying to get me to ‘engage’. This filter list looks to hide features that involve distractions and clutter on the platform. The base list tries to clean up the feeds quite a bit, pushing some of the bright colors and button to when you actually click into the item for a detail view.
This is basically a blocklist for uBlock Origin, AdBlock Plus, and so forth that get rid of all the socnet crap.
